Supports for Students with Eating Disorders

The SHaW Waterstone team provides wrap-around and comprehensive campus-based assessment and treatment for TMU students with eating disorders. Our team of health care professionals, including psychotherapists, physicians, psychiatrists, and a registered nurse and dietitian, provide specialized and integrated eating disorder support for students with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and specified and unspecified eating disorders.

From comprehensive assessment through treatment planning, interdisciplinary shared care, staged individual and group support, and tailored referrals to community resources, our specialized team approach minimizes students retelling their story, coordinates timely care that allows students to get the right amount of service at the right time, and provides highly skilled and specialized care while allowing students to continue their studies with minimal interruption. This type of comprehensive and interdisciplinary support is rare in postsecondary outpatient settings, and represents best practice care.
